How to make a Homemade Argan Oil Mask

Argan oil is the new buzz word in beauty these days. It’s on most shelves in pharmacies and even I have it in my “emergency beauty kit”. Heck it can be used for so many things – from the top of your head to the tip of your toes.

Argan oil is the best source of essential fatty acids and very rich in vitamin E (even richer that olive oil) and vitamin F, therefore, argan oil can be used as an overall natural moisturizer. Argan oil is popularly used to treat hair, but did you know that you can use it as a face mask too? It is a light weight oil and therefore it penetrates the skin quite quickly, it isn’t greasy and has great anti-ageing properties.

Here’s how to make a face mask with Argan Oil :
You will need :
1. 2 tablespoon of oatmeal
2. 1 teaspoon of organic honey
3. 1 tablespoon of argan oil

Otherwise, it’s fine without, as the gauze has large pores, so it is easy to breathe through it. Another option is just to place cucumbers over your eyes. Get your hubby, sister or flatmate to help you with these steps once the mask is ready.

Method:
Place 2 table spoons of oats into the bowl and add 1.5 tea spoon of warm water. Let the oats get very soft then add one table-spoon of argan oil and 1 teaspoon of liquid honey. Mix carefully and evenly till it is a thick paste.

oats, honey, argan oilPlace the gauze cloth on your face. Then gently add the paste to your face (on top of the gauze) as evenly as possible, patting down on the gauze. Get a friend to help you with this. Leave mask on for 20 minutes. You may also omit the gauze and add mask directly to face, but the gauze just helps with quicker removal of the mask later, that’s all.

After 20 minutes, the mask would have worked its magic on your skin. Lift the gauze gently (with it the mask should come off), and rinse off whatever remains with lukewarm water, then cold water. Voila, you just made your own homemade argan oil facemask.. and rather professionally too!

You skin should have a lovely glow now;)
