How can you get rid of stubborn belly fat?
Here are 5 easy steps towards a flat belly ..
1. Eat a Health Snack between 3-4pm
I’m not talking about doughnuts nor curry laksa (curry noodles). I mean something like a snack that contains protein, such as a protein bar, a piece of low-fat cheese, or some almonds or apples with low fat peanut butter. This will boost metabolism and balances blood sugar. If your blood sugar is low, then insulin (the culprit for fat store around the middle) will be low. And though eating every three to four hours will keep your blood sugar even, most people I know go for 5 – 6 hours without food. This is a no-no.
2. Use the ball
Working with this simple apparatus will work wonders.
Do this ball exercise till muscle failure, three times a week.
Support yourself lightly with your hands. Grasp ball between feet, and extend.
After a full extension (hold 5 seconds), crunch back in to starting position. Repeat till muscle failure. (Lowering your legs so it is closer to the floor, makes it harder!)
3. Reduce Salt intake
Salt causes water retention and is the no.1 culprit for making your tummy bloat. Go without salt, or if you must, use natural sea salt or kosher salt, which is lower in sodium teaspoon for teaspoon than traditional table salts. Consider flavoring your food with tomato salsa or cayenne pepper, which has an added benefit of boosting metabolism
4. Take up kick boxing
When you do your upper cuts or hooks, or throw a punch, you are rotating your torso and engaging your core. The results are amazing. Boxing also gives you a cardio workout that burns extra calories too if you add this to your workout, you will lose weight and burn belly fat too.
5. Practice Portion Control
Eat less of the bad stuff and eat more of the good stuff. This ain’t rocket science. Include whole-grain foods poly and monounsaturated fats throughout the day. People who eat whole grains lose more abdominal fat.
