Ever been in a room with a negative person? In less than 5 minutes, you should be feeling completely drained. On the other hand, if you are in the company of positive people, you will tend to feel happy and energized.
Here are some tips, to being that happy energized person in the room :
1. Wake Up early
There’s nothing like waking up in time to catch the sunrise. Go for a short run or bike, followed by some yoga stretches, then a healthy breakfast. It should already put a smile on your face, knowing that you have accomplished so much, even before the rest of the world was woken up!
2. Tell people that they mean a lot to you
Make a list of three things or people that you are grateful for, then go and tell them. Make it a point to thank them when you see them. A hugs goes a long way too – physically expressing something can keep you going and can go a long way in lifting your mood.
3. Set short-term goals
Set three to five short-term goals that you would like to accomplish in a week. It could be, clean out the boxes in the closet, or going back to the gym. Doing this might help you see that the small accomplishments count just as much as the big ones.
4. Meditate regularly
Meditate or Pray. Whatever you prefer – this increases positive emotions but also helps reduce stress.
5. Be sticky with positive people
If there is someone draining the life source and energy from you, FLEE.
I am serious. Don’t stick around till it completely damages you beyond repair. Always remember that you have family and friends who are there. If you don’t, join a support group and busy yourself with a hobby. Life is too short to be dragged down.
