5 tips to being a clothes model

Today’s guest writer’s svelte figure, speaks for itself. Wei Ni who is a clothes model for her own range of clothes is super fit and ripped. Here are her 5 tips on how to keep fitting into those little dresses you love so much!

As a clothes model for my blog shop (Peep Boutique), I’ve had a few people ask me what’s my secret to being slim. To be honest, I don’t really have a definite plan that I follow all the time as I am fickle & tend to get bored with things pretty quickly. Instead, here are just 5 simple things that I find important in staying healthy & keeping fit.

1. WATER
For those of you who know me personally, you’ll know I am a huge water tank! There’s nothing I like more than drinking plain ol’ water. I find that drinking at least 2 liters a day will keep your body hydrated & help cleanse your body of any toxins it might be keeping. I always make it a point to drink a glass of water the moment I wake up in the morning. It kicks start your body by slowly waking it up, helps you to replenish any moisture you might have lost during the night & flush out any toxins.

2. BREAKFAST
I know a lot of people tend to skip breakfast just because they don’t feel hungry the moment they wake up. I find that eating a light healthy breakfast really helps provide fuel to your body to keep you going throughout the day. I know it can be a little hard to put food in your mouth when your body is still asleep, but having something light like a cup of oats, yoghurt or smoothie will do a world of help to keep you from reaching for something sugary & unhealthy during lunch.

3. EXERCISE
To be honest, I am not a fan at all of cardio exercise. I find that running on the treadmill can be a little dull, while using the elliptical is a nightmare & sitting on a stationary bike just makes my butt feel sore after awhile. You will also never find me jogging outdoors; it is just not my thing. Instead, my weekly exercises comprise of assorted 20 minute workout videos & 1-2 hours of yoga couple times a week. The 20 minute videos provide me with cardio & strength training I need, while yoga gives me the stretch I require to keep my muscles long & lean. At the end of the day, finding what you truly enjoy doing will keep you motivated longer.

4. PORTION CONTROL
There’s nothing I like better than eating out! However, when you’re out you don’t always have control over what they put inside the food, how big the portions are & how healthy it is despite the fact that it is absolutely yummy! I LOVE eating & I find it very hard to resist a good meal. As such, when I am at home I find that eating 4-6 small meals a day & picking healthy day to day choices really help. Instead of reaching for that big flat plate to pile on your food, opt for a smaller bowl; fill it first with greens before anything else. That will help you control your portion & making sure you get your fill of greens.

5. TREATS
With an incredibly sweet tooth, if there’s any sugary, yummy treats at home I can never resist them! But I find that if you must indulge in something sweet & sinful you should do it every so often. Depriving yourself of them will make you crave them more & you’ll end up eating the whole thing instead of just a tiny bit. With chocolates & sweets, it’s good to get small individually wrapped ones where you can have 1 or 2 to satisfy you. While with ice-cream, using a smaller bowl/cup will help you control your portions. Just remember not to reach for that 2nd scoop once you’re done!

At the end of the day, I believe that as life is short it should be enjoyed to the fullest! It is important never to deprive yourself of food, exercise regularly (even 20minutes a day will do!), enjoy what you do & having a positive outlook on life will do a world of good to your mind & your body!
