This 20 Minute Workout will help you blast fat, and boost your metabolism!
No.. I’m not talking about the 20 Minute Workout, the Canadian-produced aerobics-based television program that ran in the 80’s, where a group of busty yet hot and fit chicks demonstrated exercise on a rotating platform! ( OK if you don’t know it, then you’re just too bloody young!)
I am talking about high intensity workout, for just 20 minutes, so you don’t need to work out for hours and hours. This is just as effective at boosting your metabolism for the day, and keeping it at an all time high.
You can try these 20-30 minute workouts you can do on the weekends, at the local gym or in the park.
This workout is great if you have limited time. Each cycle should take you two minutes. If you can do ten cycles of this you will total 300 pushups and 400 crunches. Not bad for 20 minutes and definitely no resting in between sets. You basically rest by doing crunches.
Pushup/Crunch Superset:
Repeat 10 cycles of:
– 10 regular pushups
– 10 crunches
– 10 wide pushups
– 10 crunches
– 10 tricep pushups
– 10/10 Left/Right crunches
Leg / ab Superset:
Repeat 5 cycles of:
– 20 squats
– 20 crunches
– 10 lunges per leg
– 10 crunches
– 20 calf raises
– 20 crunches
OR, try this Run/ Push up Superset:
– Run 1 mile
– 100 pushups in as few sets as possible
– 100 crunches
– Run 1 mile
– 75 pushups in as few sets as possible
– 75 crunches
– Run 1 mile
– 50 pushups in as few sets as possible
– 50 crunches
the key word is IN AS FEW SETS AS POSSIBLE. So, the less you rest, the better! Speed is important here – you want to do them till your heart is bursting out of your lungs! You can alternate exercises after each set of maximum repetitions.
These workouts are advanced and you should consult your doctor before starting an exercise program, especially if you have not exercised in several years.
Good Luck!
