12 Superfoods for Better Sex

Ever tired getting into the mood, after a stressful day? Chances are.. you’re not going to get very far. It is the mind, afterall, that is instrumental in determining sexual performance and sex drive in men and women alike.

Despite this, foods that we consume can play a vital role in determining sexual performance too. A fatty meal provides nothing more than calories, and is more likely to induce sleep rather than an active desire for intercourse. Likewise, eating the right sort of food, can actually give you a boost in energy and improve sexual performance.

The 12 Superfoods to consume, for better Sex are:

The good news is that Caviar is a good source of Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium and Phosphorus, and a very good source of Protein, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Iron, Magnesium and Selenium. They have the same vitamins that chicken eggs have, which balance hormone levels. Eggs are high in vitamins B6 and B5. These help balance hormone levels and fight stress, two things that are crucial to a healthy libido. Eggs are also a symbol of fertility and rebirth. Some people will eat raw chicken eggs just prior to sex to increase libido and maximize energy levels. But all bird and fish eggs contain B6 and B5. The down side is that caviar is very high in Cholesterol and Sodium. So if you’re gonna eat it, make sure you burn those extra calories later in the bedroom!

Truffles are a hypogean or underground mushroom, and belong to the Ascomycetes class, order tuberales, family tuberacee, and genus tuber. Truffles have been said to contain an ingredient similar to the male pig sex hormone. There is a special chemical in truffles, which gourmands love in their fine foods, and that the female pig is attracted to. The fresh truffles contain a number of organic molecules known as alcohols, aldehydes and ketones. The smell of the truffle is actually due to a molecule known as dimethylsulphide. Have you ever had truffle mashed potatoes or anything else for that matter? It heightens the senses and might possibly take your loving up a notch too!P1311736

In a clinical trial in 800 women, conducted at the University of Florence, data showed that women who drank two glasses of red wine a day had a higher libido than those who preferred other alcoholic drinks or were non drinkers. Drinking pinot noir, cabernet, and other reds not only helps decrease inhibitions, but might heighten sexual pleasure, the study postulated.

The liver is something we Chinese love to eat! This food is a great source of Thiamin, Zinc, Copper and Manganese, and a very good source of Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Phosphorus and Selenium. A good source of glutamine, a cellular fuel for your immune system, liver may indeed increase a slowed-down libido. Granted, it’s not the sexiest of foods, but if you add it to your basic diet, your body and your lady will thank you for it. The Liver is loaded with zinc, which is necessary to maintain optimum levels of testosterone. Inadequate zinc levels prevent the pituitary gland from releasing hormones that stimulate testosterone production. Testosterone up, libido up!

Oysters are high in vitamin A, thiamine, niacin, riboflavin, vitamin C and vitamin D. They are also good sources of several required dietary minerals, including iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc. These nutritional benefits come with a minimum of calories, only 66 calories per 100 g of oyster meat, which works out to about 20 calories an ounce. Oysters are a well-known aphrodisiac. The seafood has earned its reputation because it’s high in zinc, which helps produce sperm and increases libido. You can cook em, but I love em best, raw;)

Asparagus contains natural hormone-balancing properties and it can help boost your sex drive. This vegetable used to get so much bad press for causing flatulence, but people hardly realize it’s genius in the bedroom:)

Edamame is rich in phytoestrogens. So the story goes, that the number one Japanese porn star was 72 years old, but famous for his prowess. Many postulate that to the fact that the Japanese diet is rich in phytoestrogens is the reason behind this excellent performance.

Lignans are a good example of the phytoestrogenic food group. Plant lignans are contained in high concentration in seeds (flax, flax seed oil, pumpkin, sunflower, poppy), whole grains (rye, oats, barley), and fruits (particularly berries). Of these, flaxseed is by far the richest dietary source of plant lignans. Take them regularly and feel energizes – they will do wonders when the lights are low!

Nutmeg extract has been used by the Indians for ages, is an aphrodisiac. Simply put, it stimulates nerve cells and blood circulation, which boosts sexual desire. Add that to our coffee, please, and we might even get a double o*****!

These are nature’s richest sources of zinc, which is said to elevate testosterone levels. Stock up on these whilst watching television. A far healthier and more beneficial snack than say, potato chips, which only add inches to your waistline and will probably decrease libido.

Like liver, roast beef is also loaded with zinc. Of course you need to eat the low-fat kind, or the cholesterol will kill you. Go for cuts like the beef shoulder, shank, and chuck, which contains about 10 mg of zinc per 100 g serving.

Lamb (and mutton), a red meat, has always gotten a bad rap for many reasons. One reason is that it is often believed that white meat is healthier. Today, red meat is much leaner than it was thirty years ago because of new breeding technologies, improved production strategies, and better meat processing techniques. Lamb also has a high nutritional value and is an especially good source of easily absorbed zinc and iron. Mutton Curry is fabulous and again try to go for the least fatty cut. There is a joke that mutton curry will put hair on a boy’s chest and make him a man! Hoo-ah!
